"Your religion demands
the killing of all non-Muslims" and "I'm an infidel, aren't you going to
kill me?" are among two of the most ignorant and brainless lines hate
inspired individuals regular confront Muslims with.
The sad
fact is; when someone is in a negative frame of mind (i.e. after the WTC
attacks) not much can be done by way of "explanation". It's a very difficult situation. To non-Muslims the truth is really quite
simple and to say there's an explanation behind the events is absurd from their
point of view. Here lies
the problem, how can we convince people when they are in such a state? We can
convince them by leading by example and not lowering to their level for
starters. We should not straight away use scripture to refute people but good
old commonsense and rationale.
The likes
of Mr Sina use this negative mindset in a truly sickening way.
They have taken maximum advantage of the
psychological atmosphere which the terrorist attacks have created, to give a
distorted image about Islam, in order to keep at bay that willingness people
have to learn. Whilst he claims to be against hate, his fans are inspired by absolute
hate and nothing short of racism. Mr Sina's so-called message of peace is very
often distorted - sound familiar?
Back
to our point...who are the unbelievers/infidels/disbelievers? Are they all non-Muslims?
Are they always the Christians and Jews as Mr Sina claims? How can this be when
the Quran gives Jews and Christians the title of “People of the book” throughout
the Quran; asks them
to rule by their own scriptures; speaks highly of Christians; permits interfaith
marriages and allows the sharing of kosher and halal food?
Indeed at some point (one or two times) in the Quran many different people are referred to as
unbelievers but should we be foolish enough not to recognise the context in
which they are referenced? We have many different types of "unbelievers". We have
unbelievers in one God, we have unbelievers in the Prophets, and we have
unbelievers in the scripture. The Pagans fall under the first category, and
logically speaking the second and third. The Jews and Christians fall under
some combination of the last two.
With that cleared up we hope
to expose some of the sneaky tactics Mr Sina employs to convince non-Muslims
that Islam demands they be killed!
